About this Event

Lessons on judgement, restraint, and trust in high-stakes storytelling.

What does it take to document leadership when the stakes are high and the moment won’t wait?

During the most intense phases of the Brexit negotiations, Richard Etienne served as the official videographer to the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street. His role placed him in rooms where history was unfolding in real time—from diplomatic visits across Europe to the quiet seconds before a leader steps out to address the world.

In this reflective and thought-provoking session, Richard shares what working in that environment taught him about storytelling beyond the obvious shot.

📸 What You’ll Learn:

  • Judgement – recognising the moments that truly matter
  • Restraint – knowing when to hold back and let a scene unfold
  • Trust – building the conditions for authentic access
  • Capturing human moments under pressure
  • Storytelling techniques that go beyond the surface

✨ Designed for photographers and videographers alike, this talk explores how thoughtful storytelling shapes what audiences remember long after the moment has passed.

👋 About Richard Etienne:

Richard Etienne is a former official videographer to the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, where he documented moments at the heart of British political life—offering a rare behind-the-scenes view of leadership, decision-making, and the human dynamics of power.

Today, he is a speaker and founder of The Introvert Space, where he helps thoughtful professionals communicate with clarity, build influence, and lead with confidence.

Drawing on his experiences inside government, Richard’s work explores what leadership really looks like—both when the cameras are on, and when they’re not.
