《 虛擬攻略 Virtual Strategy Guide 》隨著科技軟硬體的快速發展，從電腦的內建遊戲、網路遊戲區，到之後的多人連線遊戲；大型機台到電腦、平板和手機，遊戲的變革不僅提供了人們更加精緻的感官體驗，同時在發展的過程中也承載了許多人在各個階段裡的重要記憶。回想小時候自己就對遊戲裡的視覺元素特別感興趣，諸如射擊遊戲中的武器外型、格鬥遊戲角色的打鬥動態；以及冒險遊戲裡的怪物形象等等，這些存在於螢幕中的虛擬圖像，即便到了現在許多細節仍歷歷在目。
記得在以前閱讀過的遊戲攻略本裡，充斥著各種虛構的職業、道具、種族，時而關於遠古魔法；時而描述未來科技，就像一本跨時空的博物圖鑑，記錄著形形色色色的新奇事物：有自我意識的魔法寶石、以生物器官打造的高科技武器，甚至是機械型態的古代神祇，在如此龐雜的遊戲內容裡，關於科技與魔法、無機物與有機體、原始與先進等等對立概念間的邊界已逐漸模糊，卻也正是在這樣充滿矛盾與混亂的狀態下，才提供了一個能讓玩家短暫脫離現實並遊歷其中的虛構空間，而這些題材也在自己參與遊戲的過程裡，潛移默化地成為了自身創作的靈感來源。
而做為某種對記憶中虛擬題材的再次想像，此次展覽我試圖以遊戲裡的圖像為參考原型，並透過變形與延伸重新組裝為一段段各自獨立的片段，呈現如同攻略書籍的條目般，彼此斷裂卻又同為一體的敘事架構，以遊戲為視角詮釋現代視覺文化中元素混雜、虛實交織的特性，期待觀眾能在虛擬題材裡裡尋獲日常的圖像攻略。
隨著現代科技的發展，不論是遊戲、動畫與電影內容；這些存在螢幕中的視覺元素早已成為了各式合成技術的試驗場，而圖像本身也在反覆再製的過程中，相互碰撞並不斷融合成新的形象與意義，神話、科幻與現實間的差異也漸漸變得難以區分，因而充滿了五花八門、難以明確辨認的圖像，如同置身一場關於視覺的狂歡，怪異卻充滿活力。自身的創作便藉由重新揀選日常的虛擬圖像，並透過再次延伸與重新拼裝這些視覺經驗，以繪畫形式回應現代生活中各式奇特的視覺文化景觀。

《 Virtual Strategy Guide 》
With the rapid development of both software and hardware technologies, games have evolved from built-in computer games and online game portals to multiplayer online experiences; from large arcade machines to personal computers, tablets, and smartphones. This transformation has not only provided increasingly refined sensory experiences, but has also carried with it important memories from different stages of people’s lives. Looking back, I was particularly fascinated by the visual elements in games from an early age—such as the design of weapons in shooting games, the dynamic movements of characters in fighting games, and the imagery of monsters in adventure games. Even today, many of these virtual images that once appeared on the screen remain vivid in my memory.
I recall the strategy guides I used to read, which were filled with fictional professions, items, and races—sometimes revolving around ancient magic, at other times describing futuristic technology. They resembled cross-temporal encyclopedias, documenting an array of curious inventions: magical gems with self-awareness, high-tech weapons crafted from biological organs, even mechanical forms of ancient deities. Within such vast and intricate game worlds, the boundaries between technology and magic, inorganic matter and organic life, the primitive and the advanced gradually became blurred. Yet it was precisely within this state of contradiction and chaos that a fictional space emerged—one that allowed players to momentarily detach from reality and wander freely. Through my engagement with games, these themes subtly became a source of inspiration for my own creative practice.
As a form of reimagining the virtual subjects embedded in memory, this exhibition attempts to take in-game imagery as reference prototypes, transforming and extending them into independently assembled fragments. Structured like entries in a strategy guide—disjointed yet collectively unified—the works present a fragmented narrative framework. Through the lens of gaming, I seek to interpret the hybrid and interwoven nature of contemporary visual culture, where elements intermingle and reality overlaps with fiction. I hope that viewers may discover, within these virtual subjects, a kind of everyday “visual strategy guide.”With the advancement of modern technology, visual content in games, animation, and film has long become a testing ground for various compositing techniques.
Images themselves, through processes of repeated reproduction, collide and merge, generating new forms and meanings. The distinctions between myth, science fiction, and reality grow increasingly indistinct, giving rise to a multitude of eclectic and often ambiguous images—like being immersed in a carnival of vision, strange yet vibrant. My creative practice engages with this phenomenon by reselecting familiar virtual images from everyday life, extending and reassembling these visual experiences, and responding through painting to the peculiar and dynamic landscapes of contemporary visual culture.
