About this Event
🌸 Full Event Description
This International Women's Day, we invite you to gather around coffee, stories, and warmth. Join us for Turkish & Shami coffee (with cardamom) prepared on hot sand, inspired by centuries-old traditions where coffee has always been a ritual of connection, listening, and belonging.
We come together to honor the strength, memory, and wisdom of women across generations, celebrating resilience, creativity, and shared stories over a warm cup. You are welcome to arrive anytime between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. There is no fixed start time, simply come when it feels right. Come with a friend, your mother, your sister, or come on your own. Sit, sip, and connect.
Throughout the day, Masa will share stories rooted in Shami culture, women's voices, memory, love, and belonging as part of the coffee gathering.

Our gathering takes place inside the Kids Market at Granville Island. This is a busy, family-oriented public space. Children may be playing nearby, visitors may be walking through, and the atmosphere can be lively and noisy at times. While we create a warm coffee experience within our area, this is not a private or silent event. It is part of the natural energy of the market. By booking a ticket, guests acknowledge that the gathering takes place within this shared public environment on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
