About this Event
The ‘Small Talk: On the Corners of London & Paris’ programme at University of London Institute of Paris will close out with a double double-header: first a performance with two very special artists, followed by a workshop led by each in turn.
Edward George is an award-winning DJ, composer, broadcaster and artist. George has developed, for several years, a unique live performance practice. Using a regular slot at London’s Cafe Oto that he calls ‘The Strangeness of Jazz’, George employs innovative musical and text soundscapes, weaving them into unique compositions to provide a rich context that can be simultaneously comforting and unsettling. Covering artists, labels and ideas from the history of modern African diaspora music, he has performed live shows on figures such as Donald Byrd, Alice Coltrane, Duke Ellington and Quincy Jones.
Louis Moreno, aka Unspecified Enemies, is a theorist of urbanism, producer and DJ. Moreno has worked across the fields of intellectual practice and electronic music for decades. Most recently, he has released a critically acclaimed album, – ‘Romance in the Age of Adaptive Feedback’, on the internationally renowned dance music label, Numbers.
