Join us for an evening of sweat & skincare as Samsara teams up with Birch Babe for a ride you won't want to miss!
About this Event

We're so pleased to be collaborating with Birch Babe, a women & family led company offering a collection of 60+ award-winning, certified all natural, vegan & cruelty-free skin, body, baby & clean beauty products. All Birch Babe products are formulated in their lab in Ontario with sustainably sourced, EcoCert & Fairtrade ingredients & packaged low waste & plastic-free wherever possible.

THE RIDE:

This is an all ages NO DROP women's* ride. That means: no one gets left behind!

We will meet at the Samsara shop & ride for 75-90 min. The route will be one to two loops of Stanley Park road, including Prospect Point hill. There will be two pace groups: party pace (17-20km/h) & speedy (20-23km/h). This is the average speed on flat road. Hills are climbed at every rider's own pace - we will regroup at the top!

Prior cycling experience is necessary, however, this ride is meant to help ease riders into becoming more comfortable with group rides. Clipless pedals are not required. We are here to help & guide those without as much experience!

THE RECOVERY:

After the ride, we'll head back to the Samsara store to cool down & freshen up. Birch Babe CEO Kelsey will be on hand for a live product demonstration of the : a refreshing cucumber-lime gel that cleanses makeup, dirt, & oil, leaving soft, hydrated skin after every wash. The perfect post-ride reset for your face!

We'll also have snacks from other Canadian businesses to refuel with. Plus, hydrate with non-alc margaritas from Duchess!

Every rider will go home with a full size of the Freshen Up Facial Cleansing Gel, & one lucky winner will win a Birch Babe !

Group Ride Leaders

Penny (she/her) fell in love with the rush of being on two wheels while commuting to work on a janky 1970’s road bike in the 2010’s. These days, she’s clipped in chasing Strava PB’s, exploring new routes around the city, and training for her next triathlon. She loves pushing her own limits, building community, and helping other women grow their confidence on two wheels, expand their comfort zones, and find connection through cycling.

Lily (she/her) has had a passion for cycling for decades; evolving from the iconic 70’s banana seat to the modern day road bike. Having a background in finance, she has quickly mastered the art of bike math: PSI, VO2 max, speed, distance, and most importantly, kudos on Strava. Lily is excited to support and empower folks in the Vancouver women's cycling community!

Shelley (she/her) was born in South Africa and raised in Canada. She's been biking since her twenties, when she started doing triathlons. She grabs every chance she can get to hit the road for a ride, especially around the North Shore! Her favourite holidays are bike-related, this year going to Norway, and last year Thailand and Japan. Shelley wants to share her love of cycling with other like-minded women and is excited to lead rides for Samsara.

Teesha (she/they) has been cycling her way through life for over a decade. For her, the bike is where she clears her mind, explores the world around her, and finds her happy place. She believes cycling is about more than just the ride — it’s about connection, discovery, and embracing the freedom to go anywhere. When she’s not on her bike, she’s a DIY enthusiast and a curious biochemist with a PhD, always eager to learn and try new things.
