What is FND (Functional Neurological Disorder)
FND is the result of functioning problems within the nervous system. Its symptoms are thought to derive from the brain's inability to send and receive signals properly. The brain of a patient with Functional Neurological Disorder is structurally normal but functions incorrectly.
Symptoms can cause an impairment in quality of life, that is similar to, and in some respects worse than that experienced by patients with Parkinson's disease or MS.
FND Hope advocates for the men, women, and children who have had their lives altered by physical and often debilitating functional symptoms. Illness has no boundaries, and Functional Neurological Disorder does not care about age, gender, ethnicity, education level or wealth.
