In this 8-week open-level course, we’ll focus on one of the most essential aspects of Brazilian Zouk—connection.
Whether you just finished a basic course or you are an experienced dancer, understanding and improving your connection with your partner is key to creating a smooth, enjoyable experience on the dance floor.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore the physical and emotional aspects of connection, learning how to communicate through body movement, subtle pressure, and awareness. We’ll work on refining the lead and follow dynamics, developing sensitivity to your partner’s movements, and building trust through clear, fluid signals. You’ll also practice different connection techniques, helping you feel more comfortable and confident in social dance settings.
The class is designed to be accessible to all levels, and there’s no need for a partner to join. Whether you’re looking to deepen your Zouk skills or just enjoy the experience of dancing in a relaxed, supportive environment, this course will help you dance with more ease, flow, and musicality.
Solid foundations are required to join this course. You must as a minimum be confident in:
- basic step
- Lateral
- Viradinha
- Soltinho
- Lunge/Abertura
- Yo-yo
- bonus
- Elástico/raul,
both with a partner and by yourself. If you are not yet confident in these, we recommend the Zouk from Zero course.
