Exhumed Films brings the dead back to the Mahoning Drive-In Theater this Memorial Day weekend with the 12th annual revival of ZOMBIEFEST!On May 21–24, ZOMBIEFEST XII will rise from the grave again with four frightening nights of infection, insanity, and reanimated terror on the giant drive-in screen!
This year’s event promises to be one of our biggest ever, with iconic scream queens Adrienne Barbeau and Lynn Lowry in attendance, plus another special Saturday matinee double-bill at the Gap Theatre!
Adrienne Barbeau will be with us on Thursday and Friday night, and we can’t resist starting off this year’s event with John Carpenter’s legendary cult classic ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK!
It may not be a zombie movie, but it’s got a character named Romero and cannibalistic underground subway dwellers called “the Crazies”—as if we need a reason, outside of having Maggie with us in person!
Friday night we’ll have a triple feature of terror starring Adrienne Barbeau in another John Carpenter classic, THE FOG, as well as Mike Mendez’s deliriously demonic THE CONVENT and the George A. Romero/Dario Argento Edgar Allan Poe adaptation TWO EVIL EYES!
On Saturday, before the sun goes down on the drive-in lot, we’ll have a special matinee double feature at the nearby Gap Theatre in Wind Gap, PA of Bob Clark’s CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS and a very rare Italian print of Michele Soavi’s DELLAMORTE, DELLAMORE beginning at noon and ending in plenty of time for you to get to the drive-in when gates open.
The carnage continues on Saturday night with Lynn Lowry in person and the infected madness of George A. Romero’s THE CRAZIES, the horrific parasite-driven nightmare of David Cronenberg’s SHIVERS, and the rabid hippie insanity of Dave Durston’s infamous drive-in horror classic I DRINK YOUR BLOOD!
We close Sunday with a blood-soaked Blood Island triple feature and salute to the legendary Samuel Sherman with the rarely screened reanimated monster mayhem of Eddie Romero’s MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND and BEAST OF BLOOD, and the Al Adamson sequel BRAIN OF BLOOD.
As with all ZOMBIEFEST events, the fun doesn’t stop with the films and guests: we’ll also have limited-edition event merch, photo ops, themed snack bar treats, live DJs, mega raffles each night, vendors and more!
