New year, new skills! Join me - Erol Efendioglu aka The Amazing Zihni- this February for a 5-week intro series, and go from zero to rope dart hero!This workshop will teach the basic foundations of rope dart manipulation. By the end of the series students will have a solid understanding of rope dart technique, and have the tools to innovate, create and explore. If you've ever been curious about starting with rope dart, this workshop is for you!
This workshop will also emphasize movement with the dart, footwork, stance, and presentation - everything you need to feel comfortable taking the next step in your dart adventure :)
The 5-week series starts on Tuesday, February 3rd with each class from 7pm - 8:15pm.
$165 for the full 5-week series
Class 1: Control and movement
This class will cover sizing/attaching a rope dart, spin control, slack management and fundamental movements including armpit/shoulder turns, thigh turns, and neck turns.
Class 2: Shots
This class will introduce the concept of rope dart shots focusing on the elbows and knees. It will also highlight shot sequences, move stacking, and expressive movement.
Class 3: Wraps
This class will introduce the concept of body wraps including belt wraps, dragon wraps, scorpion wraps and empty knots.
Class 4: Contact dart
This class will focus on 'contact' dart technique including wrist weaves and sunrise entrances/exits, and variations.
Class 5: Putting it together
This class will present a few short, fun sequences built using the skills learned through the series. Students will be given the opportunity to expand on them to create something new and unique!
Who is Erol?
Erol started with the flow arts in 2010, and was introduced to rope dart in October 2017. Ever since getting his first rope dart, Erol was absolutely in love with the art form. Erol has spent the last several years honing his rope dart teaching skills through work with other rope dart instructors, teaching a wide range of students, and hosting a weekly dart meet up.
In 2020 he became an official instructor for the Rope Dart Academy, and is excited to bring his skills and passion for teaching to the flowspace!
