Are you a young adult ages 15-21 who enjoys the outdoors? Join the Youth Volunteers for Conservation (YV4C) program to explore Dane County Parks while building real-world conservation skills. Participants will contribute to habitat restoration efforts and gain exposure to career pathways in natural resources across southern Wisconsin.
At this event, volunteers will step into the role of forestry professionals by assessing tree health and safety across parks spaces. Youth will learn how to identify signs of diseases, structural weakness, and environmental stress while collecting field data. Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools, participants will help map and inventory trees, gaining hands-on experience with the technology used by natural resource and forestry professionals to manage and protect forests.
