About this Event
The Youth Leadership Council will be a pivotal program offered by Haywood County 4-H to teach young people in grades 6-12 leadership, citizenship, and life skills they will need to succeed in the workforce and beyond. Any young person in grades 6-12 in public, private, charter, or homeschools is eligible to participate!
In 2025-2026, we will:
- Meet once a month for 2 hours
- Elect leaders and lead our own meetings
- Learn about leadership by actually leading projects --- the council will pick a community project to plan and implement over the year
- Learn about citizenship by engaging in our communtiy --- each member will serve 10 hours during the year
- Participate in district and state level 4-H events (aka go on fun trips!)
- Tell others about our work and what matters to youth in our community
Meeting dates will be determined by who wants to participate and will likely either be the second Tuesdays of the month or the First Sundays (both options in the afternoons)
