Youth Forum

To help our clubs grow, adapt and flourish safely for years to come, Be Active are facilitating a brand new initiative open to 15-17 year olds involved with sports clubs in Leighton Linslade.
The Youth Forum, which will be managed by the Be Active Sport Welfare Officers, Daniel Chaplen and Annelise Finlayson, both former teachers, will work to give young people in local clubs a voice.
The group will meet periodically throughout the academic year, with the focus of each session being led by the young people themselves.
The aim of the group will be to answer questions such as:
What makes a club approachable and welcoming?
What makes a club sustainable for the future?
What changes they would make if they were in leadership positions
Barriers they face in their clubs and how these can be addressed
How they have overcome challenges such as juggling sport with exams
What initially attracted them to their club
Whether they have considered leaving their sport, and why
Experiences of transitioning between sports
What more would you like from your club? For example, opportunities to volunteer, training or chances to lead sessions?
First meeting: Monday 9th November 17:00 - 18:30
Where: Leighton Buzzard Bowling Club The Pavillion, 48 Grovebury Rd, Leighton Buzzard LU7 4SW
