💫🎨YOUNG ARTIST COURSE ✏️💫🎨We have a brand NEW CLASS on Thursdays starting at 3.40 suitable for 5-6 year olds! 🎨
This art class focuses on developing budding artists through interactive story-telling. Through this immersive approach, students connect with their inner artist and translate it onto paper. After the teacher tells a story, students will redraw it using visual recall and visual memory, consolidating their visual learning.
At 5 and 6 years old, students are using art to communicate their emotions whilst their language still develops. Following visual and auditory instructions, students will regularly draw pictures together called parallel drawing. Through this, children will develop their fine motor skills and visual perception. As we progress through the classes we will also explore and experiment with new materials to learn about colour sorting, colour matching and colour mixing.
This course will begin with drawing, before moving onto watercolours and 3D clay work.
6-year-old students are welcome to join these classes or our children's art course sessions (for 6-16 years). Our 6–16-year-old sessions are focused on building technical art skills, which comes a little later on when children want to draw realistically. This developmental milestone happens for children at different points, depending partially on their personal interests. If you're unsure which class is a better fit, please call your studio and talk to the teacher about what your child currently enjoys creating.
