You Got the Grant. Now What? Free Nonprofit Workshop
About this Event
Getting the grant is the celebration. Managing it is the job.
If your organization receives grant or government funding, you are expected to show how the money was used, whether the expenses were allowed, and whether proper records were kept. Most nonprofit leaders were never trained in any of this, and it tends to surface later, as a reporting problem or a monitoring letter, or worse.
This free, in-person class walks through the five accounting questions every funded nonprofit should be able to answer:
- Where the money really came from?
- What rules came with it?
- What you are allowed to spend it on?
- What documentation to keep?
- What happens if you cannot prove it?
You will leave with a practical understanding of grant tracking, restricted funds, documentation, and a simple monthly routine that prevents most reporting problems.
WHO IT IS FOR: Nonprofit directors, board members, and treasurers; church ministry, CDC, and program leaders; and anyone responsible for grant, county, state, or federal funds.
Free and open to the public. Seating is limited (the room holds 37) and it is first come, first served. Walk-ins are welcome — registering here just helps with planning.
Presented by Desarie Anderson, CPA, EA.
