The fourth annual Yorktown Tea Festival will be held at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown on November 13, 2026. Step into the world of tea with a day of sampling unique herb and tea blends while exploring the history, culture, and politics of tea on the eve of the American Revolution.
Keynote speaker Lorna Reeves, editor-in-chief of TeaTime magazine, will share her tips and techniques for hosting the perfect tea party — from décor and menu to selecting and serving the best teas for an occasion.
The day also includes:
🫖 Chocolate, Tea, and Me – Discover the historic pairing of chocolate and tea as you learn, create, and mold your own chocolate with Mary Griffith of Williamsburg Chocolatier.
🫖 My Signature Tea – Explore the natural ingredients used in colonial tea blends, then get creative as you craft your own signature blend with Rowanne Stephenson of Serenity Homestead/Domestic Historian.
🫖 Steeped in History – Join our historic interpreters on a turn about the kitchen garden and discover what herbs make good tea substitutions when all of your tea is in the harbor. A tea-focused guide will lead you through the indoor exhibits as well.
🫖 A Gracious Afternoon Tea - End the day with former First Lady Martha Washington as we honor America’s 250th anniversary.
Whether you're a longtime tea lover or just curious about colonial customs, this is a day steeped in flavor, history, and hospitality.
🎫 Tickets are SOLD OUT! To be added to a wait list, please email your full name, email, and phone number to [email protected].
MORE ABOUT LORNA REEVES:
Lorna Reeves is editor-in-chief of the award-winning TeaTime magazine and a lifelong devotee of all things tea. Her love affair with the leaf began over afternoon tea at the Williamsburg Inn — a single cup that sparked a passion carrying her to tearooms and tea estates around the world. Along the way, that early spark has grown into a deep appreciation not just for tea itself, but for its power to bring people together and turn any occasion into an act of gracious hospitality.
