The York Mystery Plays are back!
This theatrical spectacle, performed in the streets of York, is a tradition dating back to Medieval times and only take place every 4 years. The Bar Convent are thrilled to be a part of this year’s programme:
19 June - 29 August: Special exhibition - Women in the Mystery Plays - a fascinating exploration of the roles and stories of women within the history of the Mystery Plays. You can see this with entry to our exhibition.
22 June - 5 July: See the original Arma Christi Medieval Scroll on display in the exhibition.
4 July: We are excited to announce that the Bar Convent will be hosting Calvary in the gardens. This is a free event.
