Join us for an unforgettable overland journey through the rugged and remote beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Yooper Trailblaze (Yooper TrailBlaze) is a guided, multi-day adventure that blends iconic UP landmarks with seasonal roads, scenic coastlines, and immersive camp experiences.
This trip is built for drivers who value exploration, camaraderie, and intentional travel—moving at a relaxed but purposeful pace while covering some of the most legendary terrain the UP has to offer.
Difficulty Rating: Level 2 (Moderate)
Suitable for well-prepared vehicles and drivers with basic off-road experience.

Mackinaw City
3:00 PM – Arrival and check-in at our provided motel
5:30 PM – Informal meet-and-greet
Kick things off with a relaxed evening to connect, review the route, and get ready for the adventure ahead.
Thursday | August 27
Mackinaw City → Drummond Island
8:00 AM – Meet at McGulpin Point Lighthouse
Caravan across the historic Mighty Mac, the 5-mile suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac
Travel along the southern coast of the Upper Peninsula
Ferry crossing to Drummond Island
Camp Night 1 on Drummond Island
Fresh water available
Porta-potties provided
Friday | August 28
Drummond Island → Whitefish Point → Munising
8:30 AM – Depart camp
Travel north to Whitefish Point
Continue on to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
End the day in Munising
Motel Night (provided)
Evening is open to explore town, enjoy local dining, and unwind at your own pace.
Saturday | August 29
Munising → Copper Harbor → Gladstone Area
8:30 AM – Depart Munising
Caravan north to Copper Harbor, the northernmost point of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
Scenic travel south toward the Gladstone area
Camp Night 2
The group is free to explore, roam, and choose individual dinner plans.
Sunday | August 30
Departure Day
Morning coffee, camp breakdown, and goodbyes
Official event concludes after breakfast
