Yolandra Rhodes with special guest: Free Mind Ft. Sky Palace

Yolandra Rhodes is a jazz songstress, uniquely interpreting works by visionaries such as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and Rachelle Farrell. She has performed with both local and nationally-known performers, including Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes at Kimball's East, where she brought down the house with her interpretation of Sharon Paige’s “I Hope That We Can Be Together Soon." Other appearances include Yoshi's, The 57th Street Gallery, The Fenix and Geoffrey’s Inner Circle, and she has performed our country's National anthem at Golden State Warriors games and for the U.S. soccer team.

Free Mind ft. Sky Palace is the latest band from artist, songwriter, producer and band leader James Coffee. An Oakland native, with stops in Las Vegas and currently Santa Rosa, James has been the frontman for several bands over the years (Earthbound,Urban Sacred, None But The Righteous, Remain In Light). Each with their own special sound, vibe and feel, and all original music written by James.

Free Mind features Sky Palace, a young vocalist/songwriter/musician and solo artist in her own right. Sky has performed at several wineries, casinos, clubs, and festivals throughout Northern California. James and Sky have collaborated on several songs for Free Mind ft Sky Palace. With her laid-back sultry style, the neo-soul sound of Free Mind is a perfect fit for her vocal stylings. Free Mind members are Sky Palace (lead and backing vocals), Miranda Phoenix (vocals), Jerry Martel (drums/percussion), Randolph McKernan (guitars), Darren Brown (bass), and James Coffee (keyboards, lead and backing vocals). As this is a rare Bay Area appearance, Free Mind ft. Sky Palace is looking forward to sharing their art at The Back Room.

Tickets are $30 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
