Following success of the Yoga4Health course last Autumn, we are bringing a new round of funded and accessible yoga, this time in the evenings and at the Springfield Community Centre.
The Yoga4Health Yoga 10-week programme supports users to gain self-care skills by learning yoga breathing, relaxation and mindfulness techniques. No prior experience is needed, and the gentle stretching and strengthening yoga postures can be done in a chair or on a yoga mat.
What will the classes involve?
Each of the ten in-person sessions is led by an expert Yoga4Health teacher and include:
Breathing practices
Simple yoga postures
Meditation and mindfulness
Relaxation
Group discussion
The Yoga4Health evidence-based programme was commissioned by the NHS and created by the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance. It fuses the wisdom of ancient practices with modern medical science. The programme’s benefits have been validated by Westminster University. Yoga4Health classes are inclusive and secular and do not promote any religious position.
We are the first Yoga4Health facilitator who successfully brought the protocol to Milton Keynes residents with the third round now available for bookings at the Springfield Centre starting in September. The in-person classes will take place on Tuesday evenings over 10 weeks. Participants will also have access to online resources and tutor's support.
There are limited spaces available to take part in the course which is fully funded by the Campbell Park Community Council. As we expect this to be popular, if you would like to take advantage register your interest in joining the course by following the link below. You will be shortly contacted by the teacher (by email) to evaluate if you are eligible* and to ensure that we accommodate any special requirements. If you are invited to join the programme, a cash deposit of £25** will be required to secure your space. Whilst the programme is open to everyone, priority will be given to residents of CPCC area (Oldbrook, Fishermead, Springfield, Willen, Woolstone & Newlands).
We really hope to welcome you to the course!
*There are a few exclusionary criteria to make sure that the practice is safe for all users.
**Details may change upon funder's discretion
Address: Springfield Centre, 45 Springfield Boulevard, Springfield, MK6 3JH
