It's said that modern day life is easy with all the technology and knowledge we have at our finger tips. However, the reality is that stress and anxiety levels are at a record high in our communities. We are overwhelmed with gadgets, medications and tik-tok videos telling us how to managed stress and anxiety. But do they work? Many just act as a band-aid, changing the symptoms but not getting to the root cause. Well, this workshop will share tried and tested practices, that have been used for thousands of years and have been proved by modern science. YOGA
This workshop will lay down foundational practices that ANYONE can access, using the breath and our bodies as our guide. Shelley will offer various techniques that will allow you to find the one (or ones) that you resonate with you the most . Some people need stillness, some people will need movement, we will explore them all :) You will leave with a tool box that you can use again and again to help prevent, and calm stressful or anxiety-inducing situations. Shelley will share the western science of why these techniques work, and link them to the philosophy of Yoga, giving you a traditional and modern approach to dealing with stress and anxiety.
The workshop will be a safe place to share and explore. A place to become vulnerable and to learn that releasing our grip on life, can give us the freedom to enjoy it.
This workshop will be in studio and online.
