20-21 December (Saturday - Sunday), 16:00-20:00
a little Xmas gathering after the conclusion of the workshop.
The workshop lead by Elena, is an Immersion in Somatic practices and biomechanic principles that can support our yoga practice through the blueprint of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as a foundation, a guideline to how we approach our asana practice, but relevant and applicable to all yoga styles. It’s open to all levels
In this workshop, we’ll explore Ashtanga Yoga through a fresh, grounded lens—one that honors the tradition while integrating modern principles of biomechanics and somatic awareness. Our focus is to deepen the quality of your practice by understanding how the body actually moves, adapts, and communicates.
Through a combination of guided practice, anatomical clarity, and experiential movement exercises, you’ll learn to sense your body from the inside out. We’ll look at the mechanics behind key postures, transitions, and patterns of support, and then soften those concepts through somatic principles that encourage listening rather than forcing.
Together, we will:
Investigate functional alignment and how it supports strength, joint integrity, and freedom of movement.
Understand natural movement pathways that make postures more sustainable and personal to your body.
Develop somatic sensitivity, learning to feel subtle shifts in breath, weight, and tension.
Repattern habitual movement that may be limiting your practice or creating strain.
Rediscover the internal rhythms of Ashtanga—breath, bandha, and drishti—through a more embodied, intuitive approach.
This workshop is not about achieving more advanced shapes; it’s about cultivating a deeper relationship with your practice and yourself. By blending the structure of the Ashtanga method with the fluid intelligence of the body, we create space for movement that is strong, mindful, and compassionately aware.
Whether you’re new to Ashtanga or a long-time practitioner, you’ll leave with practical tools, clearer body intelligence, and a renewed sense of connection to your practice.
