Discover how yoga can support your gardening practice by improving flexibility, strength, and mindfulness.This workshop is designed for gardeners of all levels who want to cultivate balance in both body and mind while tending to their plants. Yoga means union, and there's no better way to feel that union than by connecting to nature.
Through gentle stretching, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, you'll learn techniques to ease common gardening aches, improve posture, and enhance mobility for bending, lifting, and kneeling. We'll also explore grounding poses and a meditation practice to connect more deeply with nature and the rhythms of the earth.
We will breifly discuss the history of yoga and how we can use it to enhance our time in the garden. Class will be broken down into two segments - postures and movements to use BEFORE gardening to prepare the body - and then postures to use AFTER gardening to restore the body. We will take our time moving through each poses and finding modifications or variations that are suitable for every BODY.
No prior yoga experience is necessary—just bring your love for gardening and a willingness to move!
