This is a four part class held on Saturday and Sundays. Total training time is 12 hours spanned over two weekends. Kayaks and gear needed for all classes are included.
Dates/Times are:
Series 1:Feb 14/15, Feb 21/22
Series 2: Feb 28/Mar 1, Mar 7/8 and
Series 3: Mar 21/22, 28/29
Sat from 1- 4PM and Sun Noon - 3PM
Target Audience for This Class:
Beginners just getting into kayaking who want a safe, controlled environment to learn basics
Recreational paddlers seeking to refine strokes, turns, and efficiency
Intermediate paddlers wanting to polish rescue skills, re-entry, roll prep, or transitions
Anyone preparing to move into open water paddling or guided trips
Even experienced paddlers can benefit — the structured environment lets you isolate skills, drill with consistency, and practice safely under supervision.
Adults and older youth would be ideal for our kayaks/life vests.
One does not need to be a YMCA member in order to enroll.
Maximum class size is 6, minimum age is 16.
Cost is $175 per person.
