Ashkenaz Berkeley is proud to present From San Jacinto Bolivar Colombia Yeison Landero grandson of the late Andres Landero King of Cumbia Playing Accordion style cumbia from the Sabana region of the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Plus The East Bay's own Cumbia Vallenato group Los Bahianatos will be opening. Also the Local Colombian Dance group La Cumbiamba Colombiana will be doing a Traditional Cumbia dance show to open up the event. A night packed with Cumbia Colombiana don't miss it. 7:30pm doors open

YEISON LANDERO was born in San Jacinto (Bolívar) in the heart of Los Montes de María located in the Caribbean region of Colombia. His grandfather, Andrés Landero was one of the most famous accordionists, known as the “King of cumbia”. Today, having received all this legacy from his grandfather, Yeison, known as the “Heir to cumbia”, is not only one of the greatest accordion players, but is also working to create his own traditional style. www.instagram.com/yeisonlandero

CUMBIA DIANA (Dance Class y Rueda de Cumbia)
Diana Olivares, born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia — home to Latin America’s second-largest carnival — grew up surrounded by vibran cultural traditions. After moving to the USA, she dedicated herself to sharing her roots, folklore and passion, founding two Colombian Cumbia folklore dance groups and performing at countless events. Diana teaches beginner and intermediate Folkloric Cumbia classes at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley and throughout the Bay Area. www.instagram.com/cumbiadiana
