In the early 90s, a group of rappers from New York came together around music, martial arts and a shared mythology. They became the Wu-Tang Clan, obsessed with Hong Kong kung-fu films, from dubbed voices and temple discipline to codes of brotherhood.

For one night in Hong Kong, Softerfields follows that thread through an intimate vinyl listening session, moving between records, film, swordplay and hard drums to understand how Hong Kong cinema helped shape one of hip-hop’s strangest worlds.
