Hong Kong International School -A&A Project Site Visit
About this Event
Visit highlight:
This project is a A&A project, a conversion of the existing High School Sports Block into a Performance Hall, alongside the transformation of the Middle School Sports Block into a dedicated Music Center. Participants will observe the demolition works of existing reinforced concrete elements. The visit will focus on the structural techniques to install complex supporting steel frames that form the new architectural atrium within the existing building envelope.
One of the standout features of this project is the integration of the Gala Venue Seating System with specialized floor seat boxes—a benchmark in modern multi-functional auditorium design. This highly advanced, automated under-stage technology allows a sloped, tiered-seating configurations to be seamlessly converted into a flush, flat flooring system by stowing full-scale theatre seats entirely beneath the floor plates. Participants will be introduced to how this spatial flexibility optimizes venue utilization and acoustical performance to accommodate diverse layouts.
