Most of us move through our days carrying stories, questions, memories, longings, griefs, and dreams that rarely get the attention they deserve. We tell ourselves we'll make time to reflect someday. But someday keeps moving.
Writing the Heart is a 10-week online writing community designed to help you slow down, listen inward, and connect with others who are committed to living more consciously and authentically.
Some participants join because they want to write memoir, personal essays, or books. Others come because they're seeking healing, self-discovery, creative renewal, or simply a deeper connection to themselves and others. Both approaches are welcome.
Each week, author and memoir teacher Brad Wetzler shares a brief passage from a memoir, essay, or poem. Together, we explore the emotions, images, and questions it raises. Brad then offers several lines from the reading as invitations into your own writing.
Then we write.
For twenty minutes, you follow whatever wants to emerge onto the page. A memory. A story. A question. A truth you've been carrying for years.
And then comes the heart of the experience: we gather together and share. We listen. We witness one another. We discover that joy, love, heartbreak, uncertainty, gratitude, and grief are far more universal than we imagined.
There is no critique. No pressure to perform. No requirement that you consider yourself a writer.
Just a welcoming community, a notebook, and the opportunity to meet yourself on the page.
Participants often leave feeling more connected to themselves, more inspired, more creative, and more aware of what truly matters in their lives.
