About this Event
Author and poet Tim MacGahbann explores writings different forms through his novels, Call Him Mine and How To Be Nowhere, memoir The Black Pool, short story collection Saints and his upcoming collection of poetry Found in a Context of Destruction, as well as his history of journalism.
We’ll be discussing his formal flexibility, and the challenges, and rewards, of making a life, and a living, of writing. Tim is one of the most engaged, committed and mischievous writers working today; you can get an early glimpse of his mind at work in this interview with The London Magazine, discussing the short story: https://thelondonmagazine.org/interview-tim-macgabhann-on-short-stories-and-the-anti-plot-sentence/
The Tuesday Group is a long-running creative writing workshop for prose writers at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s, coordinated by Dara McWade. Their regular Write Night sees a break from the workshop format to feature guest writers offering insights into their own writing lives.
