Edmonton will be tabling at the Market providing information. We may do another action later however we will start here. Its been a busy few weeks for us.
here is some history:
There has been remarkable progress in regards to eliminating fur from the luxury fashion world. Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Rudsak, Moncler, Canada Goose, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Michal Kors, Rick Owens as well as major luxury department stores, including CAFT's recent victories - Condé Nast publications, Vogue Magazine, Hearst Publications (Harper's Bazar), and NYFW have all commit to fur-free policies! Activists heavily committed to the anti-fur movement around the world mobilized and fought relentlessly to win these campaigns for our brethrens in fur- but we're not done.
It's time to revisit the usual suspects responsible for the suffering of countless fur bearing animals. Luxury conglomerate, LVMH, remains our biggest contender yet.
Heartbreaking fact; November is pelting season. Millions of 8 month old fur-bearers are still in serious danger on fur farms. Millions will be violently killed for their first-ever winter coat via barbaric methods of torture.
LVMH IS THE MAIN HOLDOUT, a huge influence behind Milan Fashion Week's refusal to drop fur, hence why our eyes are also focused on Molteni, Bain & Co, "Altagamma" - a new target spearheaded by CAFTUSA against the CEO of CNMI Carlo Capasa. We cannot allow LVMH's CEO Bernard Arnault to rest easy or reap one more dollar off the backs of innocent animals. Without fur showcased on runways by fashion designers, the use of animal fur in fashion is sure to phase out.
The Winter season is coming upon us, lets hold LVMH accountable!
