The 17th annual World Labyrinth Day will be celebrated locally at Middleway Urban Monastery, and the public is invited. According to international organizers, people will walk a labyrinth wherever they are beginning at 1 p.m. local time and passing from one time zone to the next around the globe.
"It is intended to create a worldwide wave of peaceful energy around our planet as it turns in space," organizers said.
Middleway's event offers an outdoor meditative walk on a labyrinth under oak trees. For those unable to walk it, the monastery will have indoor labyrinths that can be completed by hand in a similar meditative way. Volunteers will be available to give instructions for those who have never walked a labyrinth.
