About this Event
World Book Night: Reading Hour at Rugby Library
Join us at Rugby Library as we celebrate the National Year of Reading 2026 by taking part in the nationwide #ReadingHour! For one dedicated hour between 7–8pm, we’ll be creating a calm, cosy space where you can simply settle in and enjoy your own book — just like a silent book club. There will be time either side of the reading hour to help yourself to a refreshment and sweet treat and meet your fellow book lovers.
Bring whatever you’re currently reading: a novel, a graphic novel, non‑fiction, an audiobook with headphones, or anything you love. It’s your time to read your way. If you’re looking for something new, you’re welcome to browse the shelves and take out books from the library too.
Every attendee will receive a free copy of Rosie Goodwin’s new Quick Reads title, Sweet Charity.
This event is in partnership with our Warm Welcome scheme.
This event is great for:
- Connecting with others who enjoy reading

Cancellation of Tickets
Can't make it to an event? Please let us know! We understand that sometimes plans change and you may no longer be able to attend an event you've booked. If that happens, we kindly ask that you cancel your booking in advance.
Doing so helps others take your place and ensures that the time, effort, and funding that go into our events are used effectively. Our events are supported by Warwickshire County Council and Arts Council England, and every space matters. When you don’t attend without cancelling, others miss out — and valuable resources go to waste.
