About the Workshop
Changing Unhelpful Habits
Do you have habits that you would like to change but find difficult to break? Perhaps you put things off, spend too much time on your phone, avoid situations that feel difficult, or find yourself getting stuck in patterns that don’t support your wellbeing.
This supportive and practical session will explore how habits develop, why they can be difficult to change, and what we can do to create healthier and more helpful patterns in everyday life.
Together, we will look at the thoughts, feelings, situations and routines that can contribute to unhelpful habits. We’ll explore simple strategies for noticing these patterns and making small, realistic changes that can support our wellbeing and help us move towards the things that matter to us.
The session will encourage you to think about:
- What habits might be getting in the way of your wellbeing
- Why we can find certain habits difficult to change
- How triggers and routines can keep habits going
- How to replace unhelpful habits with more supportive alternatives
- How to make small, achievable changes that can build over time
- How to respond to setbacks without giving up
You don’t need to have a particular habit in mind to attend. The session is about understanding our patterns and discovering practical ways to make positive changes at a pace that feels manageable.
About CNWL Recovery & Wellbeing College
CNWL Recovery & Wellbeing College is a wellbeing service offering opportunities for people to come together to learn ways to live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives, as defined by them.
Our sessions combine knowledge from people with lived experience and those with clinical experience, with everyone coming together as equals. We are not a formal college — we do not assess participants or provide qualifications, and we do not provide therapy. Instead, our workshops offer a safe, empowering and non-stigmatising space to explore, share and learn together.
We support people on their journey of self-discovery, helping everyone to recognise and develop their strengths, talents and resources so they can become experts in their own self-care and move towards the things they want to achieve in life.
