Workshop: Mastering Microsoft word for Novelists
Instructor: Dawn Brotherton
Microsoft Word offers a wealth of tools that can make the novel-writing process more organized, efficient, and enjoyable—if you know how to use them.
In this practical, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to harness Word’s features to support every stage of your writing journey, from organizing chapters and navigating lengthy manuscripts to using styles, navigation tools, headers, page breaks, comments, and Track Changes to streamline drafting and revision. We’ll explore ways to manage multiple versions, maintain consistent formatting, and customize your workspace to suit your creative process, so you can spend less time wrestling with technology and more time focusing on your story.
Whether you’re beginning your first novel or working with a manuscript that has grown unwieldy, you’ll leave with practical skills and a toolkit for making Microsoft Word work for you.
