In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you’ll explore sculptural painting techniques that go beyond the brush—building dimension, softness, and shimmer into your work.

Using modeling mediums, layered color, and luminous accents, you’ll create a richly textured butterfly that feels both grounded and ethereal.

Whether you’re new to painting or looking to expand your creative voice, this workshop offers a fresh and inspiring way to approach mixed media.

Students will learn:

• How to build texture and movement in a composition

• How to create soft, luminous color transitions

• How to use gold accents to enhance light and depth

• Balancing detail with expressive abstraction

Since modeling paste requires significant drying time, the instructor will prepare partially textured canvases in advance. This will allow students to focus on shaping, refining, and finishing their pieces during the session without waiting for drying. The instructor will prepare the main shapes in advance, and students will complete the piece using thinner layers and finishing techniques to ensure everything works well within the session time.

Each student will leave with a finished artwork and a deeper understanding of texture and expressive painting.
