In this hands-on class, students will begin by selecting or bringing a reference image, which they’ll learn how to transfer onto their plaque as a guide for their design. From there, you’ll explore the art of shaping glass or ceramic tile, learning how to safely nip tiles into custom shapes to fit your composition and bring your image to life.
Students will be guided through arranging their design, adhering tiles to the surface, and understanding key mosaic principles such as spacing, flow, and balance. A small vase will be incorporated into the plaque, allowing you to display fresh or dried flowers as part of your finished piece.
To complete your artwork, you’ll learn how to apply grout, filling in the spaces between tiles to unify the design and give your piece a polished, professional finish. Leave with a beautiful, personalized wall vase plaque ready to hang and enjoy.
