Course Overview
We will begin the session with introductions and an overview of what to expect from the workshop. As part of setting individual learning goals, each participant will also have an opportunity to share their own personal dreams with us.
Topics covered in this course
Key Communication Components
From here onwards, participants will learn about how business communication can vary across different contexts. Towards the end, they will reflect on what they’ve learnt in light of the pre-assignment they now have.
The Building Blocks
All key initiatives – from marketing strategy through to expansion plans – need to be aligned with an organisation’s mission, vision and values. This session will address how to create an effective communications roadmap, beginning with elevator pitches and executive summaries that clearly articulate organisations’ ‘value proposition’.
Your Communications Plan
Participants will review the process of developing a communications plan – from targeting and routing, to the various approaches of inbound versus outbound and the establishment of vehicles, or methods used to reach the targets you’ve identified and outline – discover how your plans can execute with information-gathered ease. How to set up an approval process that will ‘say yes’ quickly.
The Five C’s of a Successful Message
They will also learn how to put together these messages – what are the essential elements to display when communicating clearly, succinctly and effectively (accurately and persuasively) when sharing information?
Communication Strategies
Participants will gain two essential tools to enhance their communication success – goal setting and mastery of key messages. Learn first how to build narratives that ensure meaningful, lasting relationships with coworkers or clients.
Sharing Information Through Media Releases
Want to know how to write a great media release? You can! Come along to this interactive session to ensure that your information is released in the most effective way possible. We’ll share tips to help you to make your message work for you.
Communicating Online
Participants will discover how to leverage the power of blogs and social media to become effective tools to spread their message.
Using Stories to Communicate
During this session, you’ll learn how stories have the power to help you excel as a communicator. You’ll come to understand how to harness the the technical aspects of good story-telling – allowing you to command the attention of your audience and deliver convincing messages.
Polishers and Time Savers
During this conference, participants will learn how to restructure their communication procedure through the use of communication note sheets using the 3 R’s of readability, reliability and responsiveness!
Enhancing Your Results
The ‘practical tools’, to paraphrase the document, will enable practitioners to ‘cultivate their own power through myths, totems, SEO, analytics, and SWOT’ assessments.
Maintaining Your Message in Crisis
At the conclusion of the meetings, participants will reflect on how to speak to one another when everyone feels uncertain and challenged.
Workshop Wrap-Up
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be asked to reflect on key questions and develop customised action plans.
