This is one of our more advanced bowl turning classes. We will discuss, in detail, how to harvest your own wood along with best practices in logging, storing and understanding where the bowl and platter blanks are in the log. You will learn advanced tool techniques, how to keep the bark on the blank using CA adhesives, elements of design, form and function and different bowl mounting techniques. You will also learn how to keeping the wings of the bowl the same thickness and how to keep the wings aligned with each other. Each student is responsible for supplying their own eye protection, dust mask, face shield, notebook, 1/2in and 3/8in bowl gouge, round scraper, parting tool. Optional Tools: Cordless drill with 3in sanding pad.
