Wood Shop for Kids provides a hands–on experience for kids of all ages. Students will have the opportunity to plan and construct a simple wood shop project.
Over the course of the two days we will sketch, label, create a materials list, measure, cut, sand, assemble and finish projects such as benches, boxes, small bookcases, knock hockey, skee ball, checker/chess boards, etc. Four photo albums will be available for all to look through to get ideas if needed. If time allows very small projects such as dice, little block animals or buildings, initials or names can also be made.
Ages range from 5th grade all the way to 105th grade. A very capable 3rd or 4th grader who’s had some wood shop experience are welcome. Any child under the age of 12 must have an accompanying adult. Students must be able to follow directions, work safely in the shop and work on their own while the instructor helps others.
This is a weekend class, Saturday and Sunday, 9-5pm.
