10:30 AM kicks off our Tyers Table Ware, Idaho native, Amanda Chapman, a.k.a., The Girl Who Ties Flies, will be sharing some of her favorite steelhead patterns. It’s just so fun to hang out and watch her craft her art! We will have coffee available and snacks so just come and make yourself at home, it says “welcome home” on our front door for a reason! Everyone is welcome here!
At 11:30 AM Jennifer La Follette, co-owner of Royal Treatment Fly Fishing will be giving a fly fishing casting demonstration in the parking lot and help give you some refresh your skills and answer questions that you might have for basic fly fishing. And yes, there will be another lady Yoda‘s fly fishing clinic going on the book soon! (In case you missed the first one!xox)
12:30 PM, our good friend Russell James, a.k.a., the punk rock angler, will be sharing their invitation and importance of understanding the nonprofit called ifishibelong ~ a subgroup of United Women on the Fly, which provides a ton of free fishing opportunities, and education and fish-a-longe to people worldwide to connect.
1pm- Rachel Andres from southern Oregon will present on fishing in the Rogue Valley area, and her connection to fly fishing for Health. She is a certified health coach, and her new personal passion of creating custom woodworking is quite inspiring! @wireandwoodoregon
Amanda and rachel will both be donating items for our casting for recovery raffle! In addition, my husband, Joel and I will be raffling off a full hosted day of fly fishing on the Deschutes River via drift boat with an all-inclusive lunch and fly fishing experience. We will be raffling off a new fly rod outfit, custom earrings from Rachel, a fly box and flies from Amanda, a custom fly fishing net from Eathan @e_vwoodworks .
Cast for recovery is a nationwide organization that helps get women with breast. Cancer fly fishing and connected with other women who are battling the same challenges so that they feel supported and have a means of mental rest through fly fishing. It’s truly a cause that is near end to our heart and anytime we do a public event, we always do a greater good project 100% proceeds go to www.castingforrecovery.org
We will have finger foods throughout the day and it’s a super casual event that I hope everyone can attend and bring a friend. We will have people helping teach basic etymology and fly fishing knots.
The goal is that you feel comfortable attaining an overall chunk of information that gives you confidence to have a fly fishing conversation with someone or walk into any fly shop in the world and have a clue of what you’re looking at, even if you’ve never actually cast a rod - YET! But we’re gonna change that too!
