Women's MINDSET Weekend Self-Defence Workshop - Hamilton

The workshop is rated R13 so only those aged 13 and above can attend due to the content taught. There are a limited amount of spaces available so book early. Please note that this is a two-day workshop.

We know that not everyone can manage the full two days due to work, studies or family commitments, so if you wish to attend then we recommend coming along on the Sunday. Ticket purchases cover you for both a single day or two-day attendance.

So, what sort of things can you expect to learn at this workshop?
You learn the vital parts of the body - parts of the body that are vulnerable & easy to attack.
Learn how to block an attack confidently.
Learn how to defend yourself against slaps, punches, pushes & grabs.
Learn to defend yourself against headlocks, hair grabbing, and wrist grabs.
Learn how to defend yourself against chokeholds, and bear hugs.
Learn how to defend yourself on the ground.
Learn effective rape defence techniques.
Learn how to use your hands, legs, knees & elbows as weapons.
Learn to defend yourself against many other types of attacks with confidence.
Plus, lots, lots more. (depending on the time allowed & the participant's progression)
What we teach is how to deal with the worst-case scenario, when the awareness, avoidance and de-escalation have failed, it all turns physical, there's no obvious way to escape & you must fight back.

This is the 17th year that we've been running our women's workshop for the community in New Zealand and the third year in Australia. All you need to take with you is a positive attitude, comfortable clothing, a drinks bottle & towel plus something to eat during the breaks. Please note that the workshop takes people out of their comfort zone and can be both physically and mentally demanding at times if unsure seek your doctor's advice before undertaking any form of physical training or have a word with the instructor.
