A women's circle outdoors on the longest evening: slow down, share, be present, in nature. Sun 21 June, North London.About this Event
A Women's Circle Outdoors on the Longest Evening
Most of our days are spent in our heads. Doing, managing, planning, getting through. The body comes along, useful and largely unnoticed, and the day ends and another one starts.
The Summer Solstice is a natural pause in that. The longest evening of the year, the year at its fullest light, the point the whole turning rests on for a moment before it tips back.
This circle is an evening to stop, come outdoors with other women, and spend some real, unhurried time simply being present, noticing sensation and touch, in the living world. Nothing to achieve. Nowhere to get to. Just here, on the longest evening.
The Concept
This is a women's circle, held outdoors in a North London park, on the evening of the Summer Solstice.
We gather, and we share, the way a circle does, with no fixing and no advice, just being heard. Then we slow right down into a quiet, touch-based inquiry: noticing what the evening feels like on the skin, meeting the natural world around us with real attention, petal, grass, leaf and bark, and then your own hands, all fully clothed, all at your own pace. It is simple, and it is more than it sounds, the way slowing down usually is.
And there is one question we will sit with together, and share if we wish: what is the connection, for you, between being in nature and your own sensuality? There is no right answer. The question is the point.
It is gentle, it is unhurried, and it asks nothing of you but your willingness to slow down and notice.
What This Opens
Presence, real attention to being here, in your body, instead of in your head
Permission, to slow down and notice, without doing, justifying, or being useful to anyone
Company, the particular ease of being outdoors with other women, sharing and being heard
Sensation, unhurried attention to touch and the natural world
The solstice, the quiet of the year at its fullest light, felt in your own body
What You'll Experience
A warm welcome into circle, outdoors with other women on the longest evening
Space to share and be heard, as much or as little as you choose
A quiet, touch-based inquiry: the evening on your skin, the natural world, your own hands, fully clothed throughout
A reflective question, sat with and shared in circle
A closing share, and an optional informal stay afterwards to watch the sun set
What to Expect
This is an outdoor evening circle in a park in the N11 area of North London. We sit together on the ground, on blankets, fully clothed, gently and unhurried.
The circle is intimate, a small group of women. Everything is an invitation, never an instruction. You share only what you choose to. You go only as far as feels right, and you can simply rest or watch at any point.
Whether this is your first circle or you have been coming all year, you are welcome here exactly as you are. If this kind of thing is completely new to you, that is genuinely fine. The evening is built so you can arrive knowing nothing and feel at ease.
About Your Facilitator
Melanie Knight is a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and Somatic Sex Educator. She creates spaces where women can slow down and reconnect with their bodies and their senses, without pressure, without performance, and without apology. Her approach is trauma-informed, consent-based, and always honours where you are right now.
Practical Details
Location: A park in the N11 area, North London. The exact meeting point is sent to you on booking.
Date and time: Sunday 21st June. Arrive between 6:15pm and 6:30pm. We begin promptly at 6:30pm and the circle completes at 9:00pm. Arrivals after 6:45pm cannot join, as it disrupts the circle.
Duration: 2.5 hours. After the circle completes at 9:00pm, if the evening is kind and you would like to, there is an entirely optional, informal invitation to stay a little while and watch the sun set together. No structure, no pressure. If you are ready for home at 9:00pm, you leave with the work complete.
Access: This is an outdoor circle and we sit together on the ground, on blankets or mats. It won't suit every body, and that's okay. If you have any access needs, or sitting on the ground is difficult for you, please get in touch before booking and we'll talk it through together.
What to bring: A blanket or mat to sit on, a warm layer for the cooling evening, and water. Dress comfortably.
Weather: This is an outdoor circle. It works whatever the weather, sun is a bonus, not a requirement. If the weather is genuinely unsuitable, we move to a comfortable indoor space nearby and everyone booked is messaged the details in good time. The optional sunset stay afterwards is, of course, weather dependent.
Investment: Concession £15 | Standard £20 | Supporter £25. This circle uses a community pricing model. Please choose the tier that honestly reflects your current financial situation. Concession is for those experiencing genuine financial hardship. Standard is the full cost of running the circle. Supporter helps make the concession spaces possible, thank you.
A Note on Sensitivity
This is a gentle circle that works with slowing down, presence and attention. Even gentle work can quietly surface tender feeling, sometimes more than you expected. This is a gentle space, not a processing space. We work with what is present now. If you are carrying significant trauma around your body, please also consider working alongside a trauma-informed therapist.
