Our theme for this year is: Exploring Women’s Lineage in Aikido. Women were practicing Aikido with O-Sensei right from the beginning. We are all part of the women’s lineage they initiated – those of us who have been training for many decades, as well as women who started their training last month. New beginners among us now might be regarded as foremothers to future generations of women in Aikido.As we train together at the annual Women’s Aikido Seminar, we honor the women who came before us, we honor our own practice, and we honor the women aikidoka of the future.
