Women on Benedict Arnold's March to Quebec
Presented by Sara Donovan
Many people know about the Arnold Expedition but might not know there were a few women on that grueling journey. Join Sara Donovan as she talks about the women of the Arnold Expedition. Drawing on existing research, her own experience as a reenactor and navigating some of the trail, Sarah describes the unique difficulties of the expedition for these women. She also demonstrates what the women would have been wearing while explaining the impact of their clothing on their experience and briefly talks about their lives after the expedition.
Sara Donovan is a long-time member of the Arnold Expedition Historical Society and an enthusiastic reenactor. Her area of interest is women on Arnold's March. She is a nurse and an avid sewer and knitter and will use those perspectives in her talk.
