Women of Whimsy: original songs by La Dee Da and Jet Black Pearl

Oakland-based trio La Dee Da welcomes you to a piano pop dreamworld where ethereal vocals, humor and insight sparkle into song. Wurlitzer, bass and intricate drums back songwriter Rosie Steffy's voice for a sound that shifts from neo-soul to prog rock and beyond, all with a delicious dose of whimsy and skill.

The untamed and inimitable Jet Black Pearl from the port of Amsterdam spent many years in the south of France before settling in Portland, Oregon in 2014. She has performed on more than a thousand stages all over the world.

Jet is a creator of alternative worlds filled with surreal humor and wry observations. Smartly wacky, her songs in Dutch, English and French are a mad hatter's European party with a funky attitude. With her loop station, she records grooves and layers of flute, vocal percussion and harmonies while squeezing one hot accordion.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door general admission; $15 for students/low-income individuals. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
