A day of rhythm in the woods. Mostly West African drumming but some rhythm games and a chance for a bit of improvisation, a song or two and a special treat, some storytelling from the fabulous Racheal Murry. Based in the youth hostel in Shining Cliff Woods: how much we're 'out' will be weather dependent, but in or out, it's a beautiful space. Bring your own lunch, or food to share. Hot drinks provided but if you have a special preference bring that too. Lunctime also gives you space to have a walk in the amazing woodland of Shining Cliff
Price - £40, earlybird (if booked and paid for by Feb 25th), £48 after that. Half day (before & including lunch) £30, or £35 if booked after Feb 25th. I'll have some concessionary places so contact me if you really want to come but are struggling with finances. If you want to give yourself an extra special treat you can book a bed in the hostel the night before or the night after for an extra £20. I'll certainly be treating myself to that, it's a wonderful place!
Open to all levels of rhythmical ability, even complete beginners. All women and non-binary people welcome. not suitable for children, anyone over 15 welcome...
Please note, parking is a half mile from the hostel so you have to walk in, if you have any mobility issues it isn't suitable for you, sorry. There are wheelbarrows for any of your gear and I'll be providing drums and percussion. Part of the wonderfullness of this event is the 'being in the woods' bit, away from the everyday and the 10 minute walk from the 'secret' car park is part of that. I encorage car sharing if possible as parking spaces are limited.
