Women in the Cathedral Library and Archives

A four week course at the Cathedral Library and Archives exploring women through history. We will start with a tour of the Cathedral to discover monuments and tombs commemorating centuries of local women, followed by two sessions with a close-up view of fascinating original books and documents in the collections of the Library and Archives. Our final week will offer a chance to visit the Cathedral’s brand new Treasures Exhibition – home to the Exeter Book and Exon Domesday – and we will draw our thoughts together in a discussion of how we can use sources to study the past.

Please note this course is for adults only - we cannot accept children on our learning programmes.

This course is on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd February from 10:00am - 12:30pm.

You will be required to complete an Urban Learning Academy Enrolment form at the start of the session and feedback forms at the end.

Commitment: we ask that learners commit to attending this course as we only have limited spaces. We run a wait list on Eventbrite. Please cancel your ticket, or contact us, if you are no longer able to attend the course so we can offer your place to somebody else.

Tickets: When booking tickets, please book one ticket per person and provide a name for each ticket. We are unable to accept bookings without a name or multiple bookings under one name.

Cancellations: If you are no longer able to attend a course, please ensure you cancel your booking via Eventbrite or contact the ULA as we always have waiting lists for our course.
