About this Event
Following the success of the Women in Science tours the Learning Volunteers are offering a festive and seasonal option – “Women in Science: Winter Wonders”. We asked all the scientists that we feature in all our other tours whether they have done any research or conservation or curation of things which relate to this time of year, be it Winter, December, Christmas, or festivities in general. They came up trumps and so we now have a tour which will be perfect for an end of year treat. Once you've booked your tour the meeting point is by Guy the Gorilla, 1st Floor Hintze Hall. If you're running late just look for the volunteer in purple with a group somewhere on the balcony or in the minerals gallery
You might find out the natural cause of Rudolph’s nose being red or hear about the Christmas meteorite or perhaps the discoveries of some wintry Ice Age animals. Some Christmas newspapers were also stuffed in a very unusual place!
‘Tis the season to take a tour!
