About this Event

Presented by Leola Curatorial in partnership with Black Girls in Archives and Black Girls In Art Spaces.

Women in G.L.A.M. is an intergenerational and cross-disciplinary public conversation centering the experiences, contributions, and leadership of women of color working across galleries, libraries, archives, and museums. The event brings together cultural workers to discuss the realities of building careers within the institutions responsible for preserving, interpreting, and sharing our collective histories.

Throughout this conversation, participating cultural workers will reflect on their professional journeys, the opportunities and challenges they have encountered, the often-unrecognized labor women perform within cultural institutions, and their visions for a more equitable future across the GLAM sector. An audience Q&A will offer students, emerging professionals, and community members an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.

Women in GLAM welcomes students, educators, artists, archivists, librarians, museum professionals, researchers, cultural workers, and anyone interested in learning more about pathways into the field. No previous professional experience in GLAM is required.
