A hybrid meeting (in-person with online option) for women working in, or hoping to work, in the cyber industry.
About this Event

Women in Cyber Wales is part of the Cyber Wales Group. The meetings provide a valuable way for women working, or hoping to work, in the cyber industry to meet and support each other. Our next event is taking place in person in Cardiff, with an online (Teams) option for those who aren't able to join us in person. You don't have to live or work in Wales to attend.

Our hosts for this event are Cardiff Metropolitan University, where light refreshments will be provided in the Hospitality Suite for those attending in person.

We will have a number of speakers including Valeen Oseh, who will be talking about her entrepreneurial journey, particularly focusing on the challenges and lessons learned as a female founder navigating the tech industry, especially as an immigrant in the cybersecurity space (https://www.linkedin.com/in/valeen-oseh-ovarah/). We will hear from Dr Vibhushinie Bentotahewa from Cardiff Met, who will talk about her involvement in the CyberFirst programme as an ambassador, research projects she is working on, and the Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) student chapter at Cardiff Met.

Welsh Government will also be joining us, to explain how you can grow your business through exporting. Ruth Stockley, Senior International Trade Adviser in Welsh Government, will talk about the extensive support that’s available to help women business leaders develop export sales – from planning your first export strategy to getting to market to meet your customers. Ruth will also be available for one-to-one conversations – both at the event and in follow-up meetings.

Further speakers to be confirmed.

Provisional timings: Start 1pm for in person attendees (networking and refreshments at 1pm), main event to run from 1.30pm - 3.30pm (for both in person and on-line attendees). 4pm close.

We hope you will be able to join us for this event.

Mae Menywod yn Seiber Cymru yn rhan o Grŵp Cyber Wales. Mae'r cyfarfodydd yn ffordd werthfawr i fenywod sy'n gweithio, neu'n gobeithio gweithio, yn y diwydiant seiber i gwrdd a chefnogi ei gilydd. Mae ein digwyddiad nesaf yn cael ei gynnal wyneb yn wyneb yng Nghaerdydd, gydag opsiwn ar-lein i'r rhai nad ydynt yn gallu ymuno â ni yn bersonol. Does dim rhaid i chi fyw na gweithio yng Nghymru i fod yn bresennol.

Ein gwesteiwyr ar gyfer y digwyddiad hwn yw Prifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd, lle bydd lluniaeth ysgafn yn cael ei ddarparu yn yr Ystafell Lletygarwch i'r rhai sy'n mynychu'n bersonol.

Bydd gennym nifer o siaradwyr gan gynnwys Valeen Oseh, a fydd yn siarad am ei thaith entrepreneuraidd, gan ganolbwyntio'n benodol ar yr heriau a'r gwersi a ddysgwyd fel sylfaenydd benywaidd sy'n llywio'r diwydiant technoleg, yn enwedig fel mewnfudwr yn y gofod seiberddiogelwch (https://www.linkedin.com/in/valeen-oseh-ovarah/). Byddwn yn clywed gan Dr Vibhushinie Bentotahewa o Met Caerdydd, a fydd yn siarad am ei rhan yn y rhaglen CyberFirst fel llysgennad, prosiectau ymchwil y mae'n gweithio arnynt, a phennod myfyrwyr Menywod mewn Seiberddiogelwch (WiCyS) ym Met Caerdydd.

Bydd Llywodraeth Cymru hefyd yn ymuno â ni, i esbonio sut y gallwch dyfu eich busnes drwy allforio. Bydd Ruth Stockley, Uwch Gynghorydd Masnach Ryngwladol yn Llywodraeth Cymru, yn siarad am y gefnogaeth helaeth sydd ar gael i helpu arweinwyr busnes benywaidd i ddatblygu gwerthiant allforio – o gynllunio eich strategaeth allforio gyntaf i gyrraedd y farchnad i gwrdd â'ch cwsmeriaid. Bydd Ruth hefyd ar gael ar gyfer sgyrsiau un i un – yn y digwyddiad ac mewn cyfarfodydd dilynol.

Rhagor o siaradwyr i'w cadarnhau.

Cynhelir y digwyddiad hwn gan Clare Johnson, Sylfaenydd Menywod Mewn Seiber Cymru ac Ymgynghorydd Seiberddiogelwch yn ITSUS Consulting.
