The Women in Classic Film series began at The Bijou Cinema in 2012 and continues with the Screwball Comedy HIS GIRL FRIDAY released in 1940.

The history of Women in classic film has been neglected for over 100 years. It's time to catch up. Learn about the role women played in many areas of the motion picture industry: Writers, Producers, Directors, Editors, Costumers, Actresses, and more.

Film Historian Chris Perry will reveal what is fact and what is fiction in the history of women in Classic Film. Q & A after the movie.

This group is for people who love vintage films and would like to experience them on a big screen and with an audience. We will be attending classic motion pictures at the Bijou Cinema in the Hi-Desert. The Bijou Cinema is the premier destination for classic films in the Inland Empire. Founded in 2010, this vintage decor 35 seat Micro Cinema shows both Hi-Def Video as well as Motion Picture Film on the big screen with a 7.1 Surround Sound System. It also has the capability for showing 3D movies in Polaroid 3D. The Bijou's 3D system looks better than what you see in the commercial movie theaters.

The Bijou Cinema is dedicated to showing classic films uncut, uncensored and in their original formats. At The Bijou you can see the movies the way they were meant to be seen.
Mini-lectures by film historians will accompany each film presentation. If you like Film Noir, Classic Comedy, Silent Films, classic Animation, B-Movies and other vintage genres, then this group is just for you.
